The Polish Post is preparing for the elections. The countdown is on – 5 days left!
As of June 22, approximately 118,000 election packages have already been delivered. Company employees will deliver the envelopes containing the ballots to the indicated address no later than today (June 23), and in the case of people under quarantine, isolation, or home isolation – no later than next Friday. Completed election packages can be placed in the so-called red mailboxes located throughout your municipality.
On June 22 and 23, ballot packages will be delivered to voters who registered to vote by mail by June 16. Delivery can be made by municipal office workers or postal workers. According to data from June 22, Poczta Polska processed 118,000 packages, 91,000 were delivered to mailboxes, approximately 19,500 were delivered to doors, and the remainder were notified.
Election packages are delivered by the Election Package Distribution Committee, consisting of a postman and a team member. Packages are delivered to mailboxes, except for packages for people with disabilities and those in quarantine, which have the "door delivery" label on the envelope. Additionally, if mailboxes are unavailable, damaged, or the mailbox cannot be left in the mailbox (e.g., due to overflow), mailboxes are notified.
The packages are marked with a special "Election Mail" imprint. Inside, you'll find a ballot paper, a Declaration of In-Person and Secret Voting on the ballot paper, a return envelope marked "Ballot Envelope," a return envelope marked "Election Mail," and voting instructions.
If personal delivery or mailbox delivery is not possible, the postman will issue an election package notification. Additionally, the notification form includes the address of the appropriate post office where you should go to collect your package. It also specifies the deadline for doing so.
The completed ballot should be placed in a return envelope marked "Ballot Envelope" and then sealed. The sealed ballot envelope and the completed Declaration should be placed in a return envelope marked "Election Delivery." Detailed instructions can be found in the dedicated section on the website .
The voter places their election package in the Polish Post mailbox, the so-called red box, which is located in the commune where the district electoral commission responsible for the given voter is located.
A detailed list of mailbox addresses can be found here . You can also take your return envelope to the appropriate municipal office. This is due no later than June 26th, this coming Friday.
People with disabilities or those in quarantine may hand over their completed election package directly to the postman upon receipt. However, they must be notified in advance.
You can also deliver the return envelope to the appropriate municipal office in person by June 26, 2020, or have someone else do it for you. You can also deliver the return envelope to the appropriate district electoral commission on election day, June 28, 2020, either yourself or with the help of another person.
