The Polish Post is preparing for the elections. The countdown is on – 2 days left!
- By June 25, offices had handed over nearly 170,000 packages for delivery, which postal workers delivered this week to voters voting by mail.
- June 26 is the last day to drop your election package into your mailbox.
- After June 26, voters can submit their votes directly to the appropriate district electoral commission on voting day, i.e. next Sunday (June 28).
During this week, Poczta Polska processed approximately 170,000 packages delivered to mailboxes or "doorstep," depending on the instructions on the envelope. Packages were delivered by two-person teams, with special procedures in place for deliveries to voters in quarantine or home isolation.
On the last day, postal workers delivered packages to voters in two municipalities where voting is conducted by mail. In Baranów, five teams delivered approximately 1,200 packages today, and in Marklowice, approximately 700 election packages. Packages were also delivered to voters in quarantine.
Only 1.7% of the packages handled by the Post Office were notified. In this case, voters have only one day to collect the package waiting at the post office. Packages notified on Friday will be available for collection on Saturday during post office opening hours.
People in quarantine during the mail-in election have the opportunity to vote immediately upon receiving their ballot. The team delivering the ballots will wait 10 minutes for the voter to cast their ballot at a mobile drop-off box, located at their door or in front of their property, intended for depositing return envelopes.
The Polish Post Office places great importance on ensuring the security of the entire postal voting process. Election packages, as well as return envelopes, will be stored securely, including in strongboxes, secure cabinets, or separate, secure rooms. All election packages, both those in mailboxes and those not collected from branches, will be forwarded to the District Election Commission on Sunday, June 28th.
