Poczta Polska simplifies its letter services offer
Starting September 1st of this year, Poczta Polska customers will be able to mail international letters faster. All international letter items will be shipped exclusively as priority mail. Additionally, from February 1st, 2021, customers will no longer need a stamp to mail registered letters.
Starting September 1st of this year, Poczta Polska is simplifying and standardizing its international letter service offerings. Unregistered letter items and M-bags, just like currently registered and valuable items, can be sent abroad as priority mail. This simplified price list for universal services in domestic and international mail will include 16 items, and customers will benefit from a uniform standard for the delivery of international letter items and M-bags.
In addition, the "airmail surcharge" price list item for international shipments to the blind will be eliminated. This means that when sending a shipment to the blind as priority mail, an additional surcharge will not be required.
From September 1, 2020, the prices of the following services in foreign trade will also change:
- unregistered priority letter items up to 50 g,
- registered priority mail, including registered priority M bags and priority letter mail with declared value in the following weight ranges:
- up to 50 g;
- over 50 g to 100 g;
- over 100 g to 350 g.
Prices for domestic letter shipments and domestic and international postal parcels will remain unchanged.
Changes to the letter offer from February 1, 2021
Starting February 1, 2021, Poczta Polska is introducing standardization for registered mail, both domestically and internationally. All registered letters can be shipped in the same manner as parcels or valuables, i.e., without a postage stamp. All the customer needs to do is complete the shipping confirmation and hand the item over to a Postal Service employee for shipping. Confirmation of payment for the shipment will be affixed by a Poczta Polska employee on a dedicated R label, which will be expanded with a dedicated field for this purpose.
The elimination of the need to affix stamps to registered letters will not only simplify the sending process, but will also significantly shorten the processing time at the post office.
From February 1, 2021, postage stamps can be used to pay for unregistered letter shipments in domestic and foreign circulation and for collecting purposes.
