A great treat for philatelists. The "Book of Postage Stamps" goes on sale tomorrow.
The "2020 Book of Postage Stamps" – a unique philatelic publication – will go on sale tomorrow. It will be available from 8:00 a.m. in the Online Philatelic Shop.
"It was a true book of brilliance! I opened it and it shone before me with the colors of worlds, the wind of uncontained spaces, the panorama of swirling horizons..." – this is how the "markownik" (as the stamp album was once called) enthused Bruno Schulz, the hero of his famous "Cinnamon Shops."
He wasn't the only one to experience this awe and enchantment. Few people in their youth didn't succumb, even briefly, to their passion for collecting. Many famous people were avid philatelists, including US presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and British monarchs George V and George VI, Prince Rainier of Monaco, and King Hussein of Jordan. Others became famous through collecting, as owners of the rarest and most valuable stamps. The Polish Post has prepared a real treat for philatelists, as well as for those just beginning their extraordinary stamp adventure!
The Polish Post Office rarely releases the "Book of Stamps." It was last available in 2005.
– Let us remind you that the “Book of Stamps” is one of the most important promotional products and the culmination of the entire philatelic year at Poczta Polska, and for our customers it is an idea for an original gift or... an investment for the future, as stamps increase in value – explains Justyna Siwek, spokesperson for Poczta Polska.
The book was created in cooperation with the Polish Security Printing Works. It contains all the stamps issued in a given year, along with technical and substantive descriptions in Polish and English. This year's edition includes all the stamps issued by Poczta Polska in 2020, plus a special insert that further enhances the book's value – stamps from the "75th Anniversary of the Upper Silesian Tragedy" issue, printed in partial color, a feature Poczta Polska is offering to its customers for the first time.
Its attractive graphic design and high technical quality make the "Book of Postal Stamps" a desirable philatelic publication, enjoying great popularity among Poczta Polska's customers and partners. Therefore, the available edition is limited to only 300 copies (each copy is numbered).
The price of the publication is PLN 549.99. Due to high customer demand, Poczta Polska is limiting the purchase of the folder to one per online store customer.
