Poczta Polska introduces electronic delivery announcements for registered mail

Poczta Polska customers can take advantage of a new service for registered mail (e.g., registered letters), which are those assigned a tracking number. Poczta Polska will send a free delivery notification to the recipient's phone number or email address. Customers will also receive notification that the shipment has not been delivered in the same manner, allowing them to collect it in person at a post office.

Electronic notifications about the shipment's status (information about the delivery date to a specified address, collection point, post office, or parcel machine) were previously only available to those using Pocztex courier services. Now, electronic notifications can also be sent to recipients of other registered shipments, including registered letters. Information about the scheduled delivery of the shipment is sent to the recipient's phone number or email address provided by the sender at no additional charge. The message reaches recipients in the morning, before Pocztex employees begin delivering the shipment.

In the event of a shipment being undeliverable, due to factors such as the recipient's absence at the address provided on the package, they will also receive an email. This time, it will include information about the date (from-to) and location (post office location) where the undeliverable shipment can be collected. Until now, this information was available on delivery notices placed in mailboxes. Due to legal regulations, electronic delivery will not completely eliminate the paper delivery notice, but it is not required to present it to collect the unclaimed shipment. When collecting the shipment at a post office, simply provide the post office employee with the tracking number provided in the text message or email.

The electronic notification service excludes parcels with declared value and registered parcels delivered pursuant to the provisions of acts other than the Postal Law, concerning the method, principles and procedure of delivery (civil, criminal, administrative, tax, court-administrative proceedings, violation of public finance discipline).

To use the electronic notification service for registered shipments, the sender must provide the recipient's phone number or email address. This can be done using the paper shipping document available at post offices or in the electronic shipping book (Electronic Sender, EN).

For environmental reasons, while supplies last, post offices will be offering forms that don't have a designated space for entering the recipient's phone number or email address. Such information can be added in the "recipient" field.
