The Polish Post Office issued a stamp for the 16th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition
The International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition is a competition for young talents and violin virtuosos. The Henryk Wieniawski Musical Society in Poznań is the sponsor of the philatelic issue.
The stamp of the "16th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition," introduced on October 7th, depicts a symbolic blend of harmonies from many different sounds, bars, and phrases. The expressive nature of the competition is demonstrated through a multitude of arrangements, which combine to create a single, clear image of a violin. This symbol also accompanies the entire identification of this year's event and is additionally graphically displayed in the postal date stamp.
The envelope presents a more complete version of the "violin of many notes" allegory, enriched with additional elements of the violin maker's craft, such as the body and the neck. As on the stamp, each of the individual fragments of the piece connects to form a single instrument. The background also features a staff, delicately curved, wrapping around the main parts of the composition and providing a base for the floating notes. In the background is an image of Henryk Wieniawski.
In the lower right corner there is the notation of the value: PLN 3.90, in the upper right corner the inscription: POLSKA, and in the center of the stamp the inscription: 16th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition. The stamp was printed using the offset technique.
