The Polish Post Office issued a stamp commemorating the anniversary of the Battle of Cecora

CECORAOn September 18 this year, Poczta Polska introduced another beautiful postage stamp into circulation, this time from the "400th Anniversary of the Battle of Cecora" issue.

The design's author, Jarosław Ochendzan, depicted Hetman Stanisław Żółkiewski during the Battle of Cecora in 1620 on the stamp, based on Witold Piwnicki's painting "The Battle of Cecora." The inscription POLSKA appears along the bottom edge of the stamp, and the value of 8.70 złoty appears in the upper left corner.

The Battle of Cecora was the first clash of the Polish-Turkish War (1620–1621). The battle was inconclusive, and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth forces were defeated only during their retreat, during which one of the most distinguished Polish commanders, the conqueror of Moscow, Hetman Stanisław Żółkiewski, was killed.

In addition to the stamp, Poczta Polska has issued a limited edition First Day Cover (FDC) envelope, which is an envelope issued on the first day of circulation for the stamp. It features an illustration of Witold Piwnicki's painting "The Battle of Cecora."
