Polish Post with a prestigious philatelic award
On Saturday, September 21st this year in Brussels, representatives of the Polish Post received the award for the stamp of the issue "100th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Polish Security Printing Works".
For a stamp dedicated to the Polish Security Printing Works (PWPW), our company received first place in the engraved stamp category in the Belgian Philatelic Association's "Les Grands Prix de l'Art Philatélique Belge et Européene" competition. A jury of 30 experts representing the philatelic and artistic communities made their selection during a meeting in Brussels on April 27, 2019. Twenty-five of the 28 EU countries participated in the competition.
This year's award is another distinction for Poczta Polska in this competition. In previous years, our company achieved the following results:
* 2nd place in the philatelic competition Les Grands Prix de l'art philatélique belge et européenne, in the engraved stamps category for the issue "450th anniversary of the birth of Jan Jessenius (1566-1621)". Issue 2016, engraved by František Horniak;
* 1st prize in the category of stamps dedicated to the youngest recipients (Youth Related Stamps) of the Grands Prix de L'art Philatelique Belge competition – stamps issued in the European Union – Brussels 2016 for the issue "Magiczny świat Disneya", 2015, graphic design: Agnieszka Sancewicz;
* 2nd prize of the Grands Prix de L'art Philatelique Belge for the most beautiful engraved stamp issued in the European Union in 2014, Brussels 2015 for the issue: "Polish Legions", 2014, graphic design: Karol Tabaka, engraving: Przemysław Krajewski;
* Grands Prix de L'art Philatelique Belge for the most beautiful engraved stamp issued in the European Union in 2011, Brussels 2012 for the issue: " 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for Maria Skłodowska-Curie", 2011 joint issue with Sweden, graphic design: Marzanna Dąbrowska, engraving: Piotr Naszarkowski.
The Polish Post in Brussels was represented by: Mariusz Dawid – Director of the Philately Office, Krzysztof Górski – Director of the Office of Cooperation and International Trade, and Agnieszka Trząskowska – Director’s Plenipotentiary for Foreign Philately.
