Poczta Polska has concluded a contract for the purchase and installation of the largest sorting machine in the Company, worth PLN 120 million.

On January 19th of this year, Poczta Polska signed a contract for the purchase and installation of a sorter for automated processing of courier, express, and parcel shipments (KEP). The machine will power a new sorting facility near Radzymin, known as Warsaw II. The contract is valued at PLN 120 million.

Poczta Polska is consistently implementing one of its most important investments in recent years: the modernization and installation of equipment that will optimize the efficiency of its logistics network. The machines will be installed in both existing and newly constructed sorting facilities.

The sorter purchased by Poczta Polska will be loop-shaped and will be manufactured using "Cross-Belt" technology. With six automatic feed lines, six manual feed lines, and over 300 chutes, it will be the largest machine ever operated by Poczta Polska. The operating capacity of the machine will allow for sorting 15,000 parcels per hour. The new machine will not only process parcels from within its own service area but will also support other Poczta Polska logistics units. The new equipment will be integrated with the parcel tracking system. The sorter will be supplied by BEUMER Group Poland sp. z o.o.

" Poczta Polska consistently invests in modern logistics solutions, as reflected in the signed contract for the purchase and installation of the company's largest sorting machine. We are allocating PLN 120 million for this purpose. This device will become the heart of the modern Warsaw II logistics complex. We strive to process parcels entrusted to us quickly and efficiently, thus competing even more effectively for demanding customers, " emphasizes Krzysztof Falkowski, CEO of Poczta Polska.

The modern sorter will be installed in Poczta Polska's new logistics facility (Warsaw II), and its launch is planned for the second quarter of 2024. The complex, with a total area of nearly 50,000 m², will include buildings for a cross-dock warehouse and a warehouse and operations area dedicated to the sorting and dispatching of courier, express, and parcel shipments, where the sorter will be installed.

" Poczta Polska, committed to modern and innovative logistics solutions, is investing in new machinery. Our goal is to significantly increase revenue from courier shipments. To achieve this, we are investing in automated sorting machines and IT systems, and acquiring new facilities to efficiently process various types of shipments, " says Andrzej Bodziony, Vice President of Poczta Polska.

Poczta Polska is undertaking a number of initiatives aimed at modernizing and automating its current logistics network. In the near term, this will enable the company to achieve its strategic goals, including the further development of forward-looking courier and parcel services, e-commerce, and logistics.

As part of the Logistics Network Architecture project, the company is carrying out adaptation and construction work and installing new sorters at facilities in Wrocław, Lublin, and Lisi Ogon near Bydgoszcz. The investment in these three logistics facilities totals PLN 220 million. This is the largest single investment in logistics process automation since the company's inception. Tenders are also underway to acquire new logistics facilities within the Polish Post infrastructure in Kraków and Łódź.
