Polish Post with a special issue "#♥ZaPolskimMundurem" dedicated to the defenders of the eastern border
On Thursday, January 27, Poczta Polska is introducing a postage stamp from the "#♥ZaPolskimMundurem" issue, dedicated to the defense of the Polish-Belarusian border. This unique collector's item symbolically commemorates the professionalism and heroism of Polish Army soldiers, Border Guard officers, and Police officers who safeguard our country's security.
The stamp depicts the patches found on the uniforms of three services: the Polish Army, the Border Guard, and the Police. The inscription "POLSKA" appears along the bottom edge. The stamp is faceless, with a value equivalent to the price of a domestic unregistered economy letter, size S. According to the price list of universal services, it is worth PLN 3.60 in domestic and international circulation.
" An important element of Poczta Polska's mission is to foster patriotic attitudes and promote values that build community. Honoring the hard work of soldiers, Border Guard officers, and Police officers on the Polish-Belarusian border, we are presenting a commemorative philatelic publication. In this way, we, too, are contributing to all the beautiful words contained in the cards delivered to uniformed personnel via Poczta Polska as part of the #WallBehindPolishMundurem campaign. This is our expression of gratitude and pride in the people who guard our country's security, " says Tomasz Zdzikot, President of Poczta Polska.
At the turn of 2021 and 2022, Poland faced the challenge of defending the Polish-Belarusian border against a wave of citizens of various countries attempting to illegally enter the territory of the Republic of Poland. The scale of this practice has meant that our eastern border must be guarded – shoulder to shoulder – not only by Border Guard officers but also by thousands of soldiers and police officers. The commitment of the uniformed services and the Polish Army has resonated with millions of Poles, who have decided to support those serving on the eastern border in various ways, including by organizing the campaign entitled #WallBehindPolishUniform.
In addition to the commemorative stamp, Poczta Polska has issued a limited edition First Day Cover (FDC) envelope, an envelope issued on the first day of stamp circulation. It features a border post and a Border Service officer with binoculars. The designer included the issue title "#♥ZaPolskimMundurem" on the FDC date stamp.
This is yet another initiative by Poczta Polska to support uniformed services. On November 11, 2021, the company joined the #WallForPolishMundurem social campaign, opening approximately 5,000 locations where it collects free postcards and handwritten thank-you notes for uniformed services. Expressions of support and appreciation for their dedicated work and service are pouring in from all over Poland. In the first three months of the campaign alone, Poles – both children from preschools and schools, as well as adults – gave over 85,000 cards and cards to uniformed services.
