Post offices offer a wide range of postal, banking, financial, and insurance services. Customers can also browse newspapers and books, which is particularly important in towns without bookstores. Nearly 4,000 post offices offer free Wi-Fi. This is a significant advantage in small towns and villages where private internet access is limited for technical or economic reasons.
