#PocztaPolskaLokalnie: post offices in medium and small towns

Polish Post Office locallyPost offices are often located in places where no other financial or government institutions are present. Nearly 70% of Poczta Polska's offices are located in medium-sized and small towns. This is the largest network of its kind in the country.

The company has the largest sales network in rural areas and small towns, currently with nearly 5,300 branches located in towns with populations under 50,000. Through Poland's largest network of branches, citizens gain easy and convenient access to a variety of services: postal, digital, financial, logistics, and commercial.

The last three years have seen the expansion of Poczta Polska's network of branches. 280 new locations have appeared on the map of Poland, the vast majority of which were established in small towns and villages.

" By fulfilling its universal service mission, Poczta Polska pursues an important public interest—ensuring access to communication services and preventing social exclusion. Poczta Polska continuously fulfills this mission at all its points and across all technologically available communication channels ," says Justyna Siwek, spokesperson for Poczta Polska.

As its branch network expands, Poczta Polska is increasing its workforce. Currently, it remains the largest local employer, employing over 80,000 people.

The growing importance of banking and insurance services

In addition to providing traditional correspondence services, new services available at post offices are gaining in importance. The company offers customers the widest possible range of banking and insurance services. This is a response to banks closing their local branches. Residents of small towns (up to 25,000 inhabitants) are most likely to use bank accounts offered by Bank Pocztowy; almost one in six accounts opened with Bank Pocztowy belongs to a resident of a town with a population of up to 2,000. Nearly half of the loans are granted to residents of towns with a population of up to 25,000.

"Nearly 80% of agricultural insurance is purchased in small towns and rural areas. Residents of towns with a population of up to 25,000 most often use motor insurance offered at post offices. One in three property insurance policies – Safe Home – is purchased by residents of small towns or large urban areas," says Justyna Siwek, spokesperson for Poczta Polska.

The growing importance of e-Commerce

With the development of modern technologies and increasingly widespread internet access, e-commerce is becoming increasingly important in the development of the Polish economy. Year after year, Poles are sending more and more parcels. It's estimated that in four years, 848 million parcels will be processed, almost twice as many as this year. Currently, over half (56%) of Poles shop online, and this number continues to grow.

That's why Poczta Polska is expanding its network of collection points. Currently, there are over 11,700 such points across the country. By the end of October, the network will be expanded with 200 parcel machines.

Polish Post for the development of digital Poland

Poczta Polska is also preparing to assume the role of a national digital operator. The revolution that has already begun across public administration requires a proven partner in e-Delivery services. " With the largest network of post offices, the company guarantees all citizens access to e-Delivery services, both digitally and hybrid, " emphasizes Justyna Siwek.

The post office will provide appropriate electronic delivery, and for citizens who do not wish to receive documents in digital form – printouts of correspondence.
