The suspicious transaction did not escape the vigilant employee of the Polish Post Office

A situation unfolded at a Toruń post office that could have resulted in financial loss for an unsuspecting customer. The woman, intending to make a money transfer using MoneyGram, went to the office intending to send €1,000. This amount was supposedly a customs fee for a shipment from Turkey, the receipt of which the customer had been notified via text message.

The alert employee decided to question the customer about the details of this transaction. Further conversation revealed that the woman didn't know the sender of the alleged package, a key element in assessing the credibility of the entire situation. The assistant didn't stop there. She continued the conversation to ensure the customer was fully aware of the potential risks.

" From the very beginning of our conversation, certain details raised my concerns. The text message the customer received contained disturbing information regarding the payment method, which was inconsistent with standard procedures, " says Monika Dama, a customer service representative.

The quick response and professionalism of the facility's employees helped thwart an attempted fraud involving a significant sum of money.

" After consulting with the client, Ms. Monika decided to notify the police, who immediately arrived at the scene. Officers interviewed the client to gather the necessary information and took further steps to investigate the matter, " says Ewa Szymańska, controller of the Toruń 1 Public Procurement Office.
