Poles are embracing digitalization. Interest in Poczta Polska's services is growing: e-mail and Electronic Confirmation of Receipt (EPO).

neo-billsAnother 10,000 people have joined the eSkrzynka community, and the number continues to grow. The service now has a total of approximately 23,000 recipients. Electronic Confirmation of Receipt, which provides senders with near-real-time delivery or return notifications, is also seeing increased interest.

In line with its strategy and the growing interest in digital solutions, Poczta Polska is working to systematically expand its portfolio of services available online. In terms of electronic correspondence, the company offers modern services available to both individual and business customers.

"Digitalization is a strategic development direction for Poczta Polska. We are pleased that the existing facilities are gaining increasing interest. For several years now, we have been undergoing a business transformation due to advances in ICT technologies and consumer preferences. We are seeking new solutions and will be introducing further customer-friendly technologies. In turn, as the Designated Digital Operator, we will begin digitally handling correspondence for offices and citizens starting in October," says Krzysztof Falkowski, Vice President of Poczta Polska.

One of the Polish Post's digital solutions is eSkrzynka, which was introduced in connection with recommendations to counteract the spread of COVID-19 – providing recipients with the ability to safely and quickly receive registered correspondence without leaving their home or office.

It's worth noting that as part of the service, registered mail is digitized (scanned) and made available to recipients in an online mailbox, while maintaining all security and confidentiality standards for e-mail correspondence. An e-mailbox can be set up online, free of charge, using a trusted profile; approximately 23,000 users already have one. In accordance with applicable regulations, the solution handles registered mail, excluding mail sent by courts and tribunals, prosecutors' offices, and court bailiffs, as well as mail sent by law enforcement agencies – if the sender has marked it "Not subject to digitization."

Electronic Receipt (EPO) replaces paper-based Return Receipts. This service is available to both institutional and commercial clients. Of particular note is the EPO service for judicial authorities, offering an alternative to the traditional form of acknowledging receipt of a registered letter. Poczta Polska (Polish Post) provides the service via tablets using a dedicated "Mobilny Pocztonosz" (Mobile Postman) application. As part of this project, postmen across the country received mobile devices connected to the internet, which allow the EPO to be made available to the sender in real time.

The use of Electronic Confirmation of Receipt is possible:

  • by integrating the sender's IT system with the Polish Post's (EN) sending system

or

  • without system integration by the sender downloading EPO information for a given shipment via EN.

In the first quarter of 2021, the number of EPO users increased by 11% compared to the same period of 2020. Customers can use the electronic form of receipt based on a written agreement.
