Poles are choosing the Post Office. 100,000 applications for co-financing the purchase of a receiver have already been submitted to post offices.
Over 100,000 applications for subsidies for the purchase of digital receivers have already been submitted to Poczta Polska branches. Vouchers, in the form of codes, have been issued since March 21st of this year.
Applying for a digital receiver benefit is available online at gov.pl, or at Poczta Polska (Polish Post) branches located throughout the country. By far the most popular way to obtain a digital receiver benefit, capable of receiving DVB-T2/HEVC terrestrial television, is to visit a post office or its branch. Over 100,000 applications have already been submitted at Poczta Polska (Polish Post) branches.
Poczta Polska is processing applications for subsidies for the purchase of digital receivers due to the change in the digital terrestrial television broadcasting standard. Subsidies for digital receivers depend on the type of receiver and amount to PLN 250 for a television and PLN 100 for a decoder.
In Poland, the transition from DVB-T to DVB-T2/HEVC is taking place regionally, in four stages. The first switchovers began on March 28 in the Lower Silesian and Lubusz Voivodeships. The final switchover will take place on June 27.
The receivers can now be purchased at over 2,600 sales points located throughout Poland.
