“Count and don’t miscalculate!” – a social campaign by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection

UOKiK campaign banner 500x500A few days ago, the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection launched a nationwide social campaign under the slogan "Count it, don't miscalculate!". It warns against the risk of losing savings and urges people to make prudent investment and financial decisions.

Information spots warn against the real loss of invested funds and draw attention to the risk of being unable to repay the loan in the event of an increase in interest rates, as well as a decrease in the value of the property used as collateral for the loan.

Before you decide – count and don't miscalculate!

  • Don't make hasty decisions and don't act under the influence of emotions – carefully and calmly analyze the benefits and risks.
  • Don't decide to invest when you're in debt - consider whether this might be a good time to repay your financial obligations early if you have some cash surplus.
  • Invest wisely, i.e., within your own capabilities, allocating so-called spare funds, not those essential ones reserved for life goals.
  • Analyze your current situation, but also prepare a plan for the future, especially if potential problems arise that result in reduced income.
  • Diversify your finances – don’t invest everything in one investment, and remember the need to maintain financial liquidity.
  • Remember, you are the one managing your finances and you are the one who will bear all the consequences of ill-considered decisions – never make decisions on impulse, “here and now”.
