Polish-French postage stamps

fr-pl_mail blockOn Tuesday, April 2, 2020, Poczta Polska introduced stamps from the "100th Anniversary of the Renewal of Polish-French Diplomatic Relations" issue into circulation. The official presentation of the stamps took place at the Polish Embassy in Paris.

The stamps depict the image of Captain Charles de Gaulle and a portrait of Lieutenant General Józef Haller.

The French Republic was the first European country to reestablish diplomatic relations with the newly re-emerged Republic of Poland after 1918. Since 1917, the French have strongly supported the creation of an independent Polish state. Building on this experience, Poland and France shape their current political, economic, and scientific cooperation.

The issuance of stamps is part of the educational mission of Poczta Polska, which, thanks to its philatelic activities, creates bridges between generations and nations.
