Like every year, the "Pocztowy Dar" Foundation is organizing a fundraiser in the run-up to the holidays to purchase essential items for postal families. The goal of the campaign is to help postal workers and their loved ones who are facing difficult circumstances. This year, over 100 families will receive support.

The "Postal Christmas" campaign aims to help postal workers' families facing difficult life circumstances. The beneficiaries of the support, which the Postal Workers have been providing for three years through the Foundation, are employees or their loved ones who have been excluded from work due to serious illnesses or have been affected by unexpected events. The Foundation helps, among others, large families, families with chronically ill children, and families where only one person can work due to a serious illness or disability. Care is also provided to Postal Workers' homes where cancer has developed, requiring expensive treatment.

The "Pocztowy Dar" Foundation receives information from across Poland about families in need of support and their specific needs. Each case is treated individually. Fundraising is organized based on the list. Thanks to the financial support of postal workers, as well as generous donations from the 1% tax rate for 2020, the Foundation prepares Christmas gift packages. These packages typically contain essential everyday items, gift certificates, household appliances, furniture, heating equipment, computer equipment for children's remote learning, and the now-needed fuel for winter. However, material assistance is not always available.

It is worth emphasizing that postal workers who need healthcare can count on the Foundation's support – and not only during the holiday season – in terms of co-financing treatment, medicines and rehabilitation.

An important complement to the assistance provided by "Postal Gift" is the direct gesture of the company's employees themselves. Postal workers, who often share deep bonds with those in need, also prepare gifts themselves and deliver them to selected families.

"We thank the postal workers for every złoty, their commitment, and their generosity. We all have our own challenges, but helping others proves that we think beyond ourselves and are able to share the good with others. And doing good can not only bring satisfaction but also often come back to us," says Bogusława Kłoda-Dębska, president of the "Pocztowy Dar" Foundation.

The "Pocztowy Dar" Foundation's collection isn't the only way to support needy postal workers during the Christmas season. In many regions of the country, funds collected in the Company Social Benefits Fund are used to create Christmas parcels. These parcels are most often donated to the children of employees facing financial hardship.

It is worth recalling that, regardless of the assistance from the "Pocztowy Dar" Foundation or support from the social fund, Poczta Polska will pay a Christmas bonus of PLN 500 gross to all employees covered by the Company Collective Bargaining Agreement before Christmas.
