ZUS 3Poczta Polska and the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) have signed a letter of intent concerning cooperation in the implementation of the "500+" program and the "Family Care Capital" program. Thanks to these joint efforts, it will be possible to submit applications for benefits electronically at selected Poczta Polska branches for people at risk of digital exclusion.

Due to the change in the method of submitting applications (previously it was also possible to submit applications on a paper form), the Social Insurance Institution has started cooperation with Poczta Polska, which is to facilitate the submission of applications for those who may have difficulties with electronically applying for benefits under the "500+" program and the "Family Care Capital" program.

Applications can be submitted from January 1, 2022, exclusively electronically, via the ZUS Electronic Services Platform (PUE), the Empatia portal, or online banking services. Benefits will be awarded and paid by ZUS.

Under the signed letter of intent, Poczta Polska has expressed its willingness to make selected post offices available for ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) staff to perform on-call duties. During these on-call duties, interested individuals will be provided assistance in submitting applications for benefits under the "500+" program and the "Family Care Capital" program.

"Poczta Polska is very committed to exchanging digital correspondence. As a national operator, however, we must remember that there is still a group of digitally excluded people who do not want to or cannot use digital technologies. Poczta Polska must and should be accessible to them as well. I hope that making post offices available to ZUS consultants will be helpful in submitting applications under the "500+" program and the "Family Care Capital" program," emphasizes Andrzej Bodziony, Vice President of Poczta Polska.

"The regulations coming into force on January 1, 2022, entrust the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) with the implementation of the tasks set out in the Acts on State Aid in Raising Children and on Family Care Capital. From our perspective, the goal of these letters of intent is to improve the quality of processing applications for childcare benefits and family care capital. There is a need to provide a convenient way for individuals who require our direct support to create a profile on the Electronic Services Platform and submit electronic applications for both types of benefits," says Professor Gertruda Uścińska, President of ZUS.

Information about the dates and locations of duty hours will be published on an ongoing basis, including on the website www.poczta-polska.pl
