Interrupted March – an action commemorating the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II

interrupted v1On the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, the Proud of Poland Association is organizing another patriotic event. Its goal is to symbolically complete the morning school run of children, interrupted by the outbreak of war. Poczta Polska has joined in promoting the event.

This year marks 80 years since Nazi Germany invaded Poland. To mark this occasion, the Association invites Polish Children of War (people born before May 8, 1945) to visit Polish schools in Poland and abroad on September 2nd – during the inauguration of the 2019/2020 school year. They will reminisce about their childhoods and share stories of the steadfastness and determination that allowed them to survive the war.

The Proud of Poland Association invites everyone to join the Interrupted March. To participate in this intergenerational event, please register at interruptnymarsz.pl or call 508 525 875.

The second part of the project will be Generation Diaries – interviews conducted by students with witnesses of World War II. The recorded conversations and memories will be included in a joint publication.
