We have prepared a stand for a picnic during the celebration of Polish Armed Forces Day.

WP picnic on August 15The Polish Post will celebrate Warsaw's largest Armed Forces Day picnic by opening a special postal stand with themed stamps, greeting cards, and gadgets on Sunday, August 15th. It will be located on the grounds of the PGE National Stadium in Warsaw.

On the anniversary of the victory over the Bolsheviks in 1920, the annual Polish Armed Forces Day celebrations will be held under the slogan "Become a Soldier of the Republic." The main ceremonies will take place on Sunday, August 15th in Warsaw, in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Thirty picnics are also planned for August 14th and 15th across Poland. The largest picnic, in Warsaw, will provide an opportunity to purchase patriotic, historical, and military philatelic items and various gadgets at the Poczta Polska sales stand, which will be set up for the occasion at the PGE National Stadium in Warsaw on Zieleniecka Street. Visitors will be able to use its services on August 15th from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The organizers of the ceremony have announced many attractions, such as displays of military equipment and soldier training, aircraft flyovers, military band concerts, play areas for children and a soldier's kitchen, as well as – importantly in the face of the announced fourth wave of the pandemic – mobile vaccination points against Covid-19.

The Polish Post shapes the national historical consciousness of society. The themes of philatelic issues play an important role in educating Poles, with stamps featuring images of prominent figures associated with key values and commemorating important historical events. In 2020, the Polish Post commemorated the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw and the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain with stamp issues, among others. The Polish Post also remembers national heroes. In June of last year, a stamp dedicated to Lieutenant Colonel Jan Kowalewski, the renowned cryptologist who broke Soviet ciphers during the Polish-Soviet War, entered circulation.

Poczta Polska is an important element of the country's critical infrastructure. The company also actively promotes defense attitudes and the concept of military service, as evidenced by the introduction of a stamp featuring a Territorial Defense Force soldier in February of this year, and in previous years, stamps and cards devoted to the history and present of the Polish Army.
