He brought her a pension. She fell to the floor in convulsions. What happened?!

A simple mistake could have ended in tragedy. When a postman from Rzeszów delivered a pension to an elderly woman, he noticed she was unusually pale. Moments later, the 84-year-old collapsed and began convulsing. The alert postman immediately called an ambulance, which took the pensioner to the hospital. It turned out that the drastic reaction was caused by expired medication the elderly woman had taken.

Bartłomiej Oczoś has only recently started working as a postman. But he's already demonstrated great empathy and a willingness to rush to the rescue of a pensioner in need.

He came with a pension

A senior citizen living in Rzeszów had a very bad day and an even better one. She took expired medication, which landed her in the hospital. But if it weren't for the postman's visit, things could have ended much worse.

That day, Mr. Bartłomiej was delivering parcels and money orders in his area as usual. One of the stops was the tenement house where an 84-year-old woman lives. During the handover of her pension, something happened that put the postman in a situation requiring immediate action.

" The woman looked a little pale at the door, but we chatted about the weather for a while, and there was no sign of anything bad happening. When I handed her the cash, she started to turn around, suddenly lost her balance, and fell, " says Bartłomiej Oczoś. He adds: " I went into the apartment, helped the woman sit up, and decided it was time to call an ambulance ."

The postman kept his cool. He immediately called an ambulance, secured the cash from his pension, and stayed with the elderly woman until paramedics arrived, talking to her and making sure she didn't lose consciousness.

The family's gratitude and words of appreciation

The retiree's family learned of the tragedy from paramedics. Upon speaking with the doctors, it was revealed that the senior had accidentally taken expired medication, which led to low blood pressure, dizziness, and seizures. She was hospitalized for several days. Fortunately, thanks to quick intervention, everything ended well.

The family sent a thank-you note to the post office where Mr. Bartłomiej works. " The postman's behavior in this situation deserves the highest level of gratitude and special recognition from my grandmother and my entire family," wrote the senior's grandson.

Headmistress: "The pride of the entire facility"

Aneta Tyrawska, head of the post office where Mr. Bartłomiej has been working as a postman for several months, is proud: " He's always been conscientious and punctual, but that day he showed something more – humanity and responsibility. These days, those are qualities worth their weight in gold. We knew we could count on him as an employee, but now we also know he's an exceptional person .

A humble hero

The man himself isn't looking for recognition. He says he "simply did what he thought was right." " If I had to do it again, I wouldn't hesitate for a second. Work is work, but when someone needs help – that's what matters most. Each of us has something within us that should make us react without hesitation in a moment like this. I just did what had to be done, " concludes Bartłomiej Oczoś.
