We are restoring the delivery of registered letters directly to the recipients
As of May 16, 2022, to meet customer expectations, Poczta Polska is reinstating the standard method of delivering all registered letters directly to the addressee. Delivery was limited during the pandemic, when registered letters that did not require confirmation of receipt were delivered exclusively to drop boxes, for the safety of customers and employees.
Over two years ago, due to the outbreak of the pandemic and the need to implement safe, contactless procedures, the method of delivering registered letters changed. Based on changes introduced in postal law (Act of November 23, 2012, § 37, Postal Law, as amended, § 37, section 4a), a decision was made to deliver registered letters in a safer manner for both customers and Poczta Polska employees. Registered letters, which did not require a return receipt, were delivered to a mailbox. The requirement for the courier to obtain a receipt for the delivery was also suspended. Currently, the Polish Post is reinstating the standard method of delivering registered letters directly to the addressee due to the significant improvement in the epidemic situation in Poland, the return to normal functioning in public spaces, and the lifting of existing restrictions.
Customers who wish to continue receiving registered mail in their mailboxes can use the free "Registered to Mailbox" service, which delivers a registered letter directly to the recipient's mailbox. The Post Office will notify the customer via text message or email when the letter is left in the mailbox.
To use the "Registered Mail to Mailbox" service, simply complete the electronic form, which can be found here , and then confirm it online with your trusted profile, submit the printed form to the appropriate post office, or hand it over to the postman. Additionally, you must provide your phone number or email address on the form. This will allow you to receive notifications when your package has been delivered to your mailbox.
If you were already using this option before the pandemic, you will now receive registered mail in its unchanged format. The "Registered to Mailbox" service is not available for mail requiring a return receipt or for mail that does not fit in a mailbox.
