The largest IT equipment modernization operation in the history of Poczta Polska is underway
Poczta Polska has launched one of the largest IT infrastructure modernization projects in its history. This initiative is a key element of its program to reduce technological debt and build a modern work environment commensurate with the company's scale and role as a designated operator and a critical element of the country's infrastructure.
As part of the project, the company plans to purchase up to 25,000 modern computer systems and accessories. This investment, valued at over PLN 100 million, will significantly improve operational efficiency, safety, and employee comfort, particularly at post offices and sorting plants.
The project involves acquiring up to 24,000 desktop computers and up to 1,000 notebooks. The use of framework agreements ensures flexibility in implementing subsequent stages and full standardization of the IT environment – all devices will meet uniform technical requirements and current security standards. This will facilitate implementation, service, and maintaining a consistent technological architecture across the entire organization.
" This is a key project in Poczta Polska's digital transformation. Replacing hardware and modernizing systems will help the company overcome years of technological debt, improve the quality of services provided, and significantly streamline the operation of our branches and sorting facilities," emphasizes Paweł Raczyński, Proxy for IT at Poczta Polska.
" The project's value exceeds PLN 100 million, making it one of the largest modernization investments of its kind in Poland. All computers currently running Windows 7 and Windows 10 will be replaced, " adds Michał Zalewski, Director of the IT Department.
The first stage is already underway
The first implementation agreement has been signed, under which a total of 3,750 computer sets will be delivered to Polish Post offices. Some deliveries have already been completed. Subsequent stages will be implemented according to the adopted schedule and depending on available funding. The company is also taking steps to secure financing for the next stages of the program.
Part of a broad digital transformation
The modernization of the IT infrastructure is part of Poczta Polska's Digital Transformation Strategy, which has been underway for over a year. It encompasses approximately 50 priority projects with a total value exceeding PLN 1.4 billion gross. Eleven initiatives have been implemented to date.
As a designated operator, Poczta Polska is also dynamically developing digital services, including the electronic registered letter system. This solution is already used by over 3.5 million customers, who have sent a total of over 65 million digital shipments.
The offer is complemented by the Digital Services Platform available at ePoczta-Polska.pl , which enables, among other things, the purchase of e-Polecony packages for communication with individual and business customers and the setting up of mailboxes for electronic delivery.
