We focus on cybersecurity

cybersecurity certPoczta Polska has signed an agreement with ComCERT SA (Asseco Group), a leading provider of cybersecurity services. Its priorities are the security of services provided and customer satisfaction.

As new technologies and security systems continue to develop and improve, the number of cases and techniques used by cybercriminals is increasing. Since May 2021, the Polish Post has recorded nearly 500 reports of suspicious emails, text messages, and communications impersonating the Postal Operator. Cybercriminals have also sent over 300 fake emails to Polish Post employees. These emails employed intimidation tactics, including sending information about a supposedly infected and hacked laptop/computer/device, threatening to disclose sensitive data if payment was not received from the recipient. There were also attempts to extort subsidies for shipments by impersonating the Post Office.

Cybercriminal activity online threatens business losses for even the largest market players. Attacks target both customers and Post Office employees. The postal operator must meet the highest security standards for its services, as this is of paramount social and business importance. Therefore, the Post Office has decided to strengthen its cybersecurity team and invest in technologies that protect its IT systems.

" We are one of the largest companies in Poland, employing over 70,000 people, with over 7,600 branches, 40,000 stationary devices, and 20,000 tablets. Our IT systems, which support our work, are extremely extensive and can provoke cyberattacks. Awareness of this threat drives the need to improve security throughout the entire organization. As part of our ongoing efforts, we also ensure that the parcel delivery process maintains integrity, confidentiality, and non-repudiation throughout the entire delivery chain (both traditional and digital). As part of our cooperation with ComCERT SA, the Polish Post will update the rules and conduct tests to confirm their effectiveness, " says Tomasz Zdzikot, CEO of Poczta Polska SA.

The Polish Post has entered into a partnership with ComCERT SA (Asseco Group), a leading cybersecurity services provider. The Polish Post's contract with ComCERT SA includes security operations center (SOC) support, training, and advanced services, under which ComCERT SA will conduct security testing of the Polish Post's infrastructure.

ComCERT SA is a Polish company operating since 2011, particularly recognized for its CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team) services in the enterprise and institutional market. It is not affiliated with any telecommunications operator. It specializes in identifying threats and incidents in cyberspace, creating and enhancing the competencies of response teams (CERT, SOC), and supporting clients in situations of threats or security breaches.

" We are at a crucial stage in Poczta Polska's digital transformation, implementing strategic digital projects with a societal impact. Our client has a specific vision not only for its digital services but also for cybersecurity. The opportunity to collaborate in such an environment is both a distinction and a commitment to providing professional services at the highest level, " commented Krzysztof Dyki, President of ComCERT SA.

Digitization is a strategic development direction for the Polish Post, which has been undergoing a business transformation for several years due to advances in ICT technologies and changing consumer preferences. Poczta Polska consistently builds and expands its competencies. It already provides a range of digital services, and due to the company's scale, its systems are among the largest in Poland.
