CHRISTMAS WITH POLISH POST: Four times more parcels with purchases from Asian portals
Poczta Polska has recorded a significant increase in the number of parcels arriving in Poland from the Far East, particularly from China – by over 400% between April and November of this year. Less than three weeks remain until Christmas, and all indications are that the increases will be even greater.
For several years now, we've been observing the growing popularity of online shopping, with more and more people opting for the convenience of e-commerce. This trend traditionally intensifies in December, during the peak holiday shopping season.
Poles continue to be interested in online shopping, especially on Asian portals. Poczta Polska (Polish Post) has seen a significant increase in the number of parcels arriving in Poland, primarily from China. From April to November of this year, the company saw a more than 400% increase in the volume of such shipments. In recent months, comparing October to November of this year, the daily number of shipments has increased by an average of 25,000.
Given the decline in traditional mail, Poczta Polska is expanding its services in growing markets, including international e-commerce. Poczta Polska is one of the largest operators in the country. The company has a parcel collection network of approximately 20,000 points, including over 1,300 parcel machines, 7,500 branches, and several thousand partner locations, including Żabka, ABC, Lewiatan, Groszek, Arhelan, and Delikatesy Centrum stores. The operator's potential also stems from a network of nearly 30 sorting centers and a modern fleet of over 5,000 vehicles. This allows for the timely delivery of over 4 million parcels daily and service to over 15 million addresses across Poland.
