The Polish Post delivers parcels on Saturdays

pp_1Due to the growing number of parcels, Poczta Polska couriers have begun delivering on Saturdays. During the pre-holiday period, the number of parcels handled per week increases by as much as 50–70% compared to the usual period.

Starting December 5th, Poczta Polska couriers will be delivering parcels on Saturdays in several of Poland's largest cities: Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Kielce, Kraków, Lublin, Łódź, Poznań, Rzeszów, Szczecin, Warsaw, and Wrocław. In Warsaw, postal workers were already delivering parcels on an extra day of the week in November. Now it's time for more cities to follow.

" Shopping online during the pandemic is not only convenient but also safe. Poczta Polska offers the option of sending your parcel by courier to a specified address or having it delivered to one of 13,000 collection points. We are prepared to handle the growing number of parcels each week and bring joy to customers in the form of holiday gifts, " says Justyna Siwek, spokesperson for Poczta Polska.

As in previous years, the company encourages customers not to leave holiday shopping until the last minute, so there is time to send it through the online store and have it delivered to the recipient. This year, parcels are being delivered by 6,300 couriers and 25,000 postmen. At the same time, to improve parcel processing, Poczta Polska (Polish Post) has organized seasonal recruitment. Employment is available to those looking for extra cash for the holidays or looking for permanent employment. To date, the company has hired over a thousand seasonal employees, who join teams at Poczta Polska's major sorting offices in Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Lublin, Poznań, Kraków, Warsaw, Katowice, Wrocław, and Łódź. The largest group has joined the Warsaw sorting office.

The option of collecting parcels at a collection point is becoming increasingly popular among Poczta Polska customers. Customers decide when and where to collect their purchases. Throughout Poland, Poczta Polska, in cooperation with partners (Żabka stores, PKN Orlen gas stations, Ruch kiosks and newsstands), offers over 13,000 such locations, as well as 200 parcel machines located in Biedronka supermarkets and post offices.
