intranet 600x300(2)Poczta Polska is implementing a project to transform its logistics network to handle the growing volume of promising CEP shipments (courier, parcel, express). Modern infrastructure is a key element influencing its potential in this area and the efficiency of these processes. To this end, the company is opening a new sorting facility in Kalisz. The selected location provides suitable conditions for key logistics processes related to serving residents of the southern part of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship.

The warehouse section of Panattoni Park Kalisz at 1 Rozwojowa Street is a modern operational space, featuring easy access to the docks and entrance directly from the site. The practical layout of the area responds to the expectations of companies from various industries. The investment is excellently connected to the country's main transport routes. The facility is located 5 km from the city center, near the city bypass and national roads No. 25 and No. 12, ensuring convenient road transport.

" The investments currently underway at Poczta Polska are a response to the steadily growing e-commerce sector, which has significantly increased its share of the overall purchasing market, driven by both large and smaller entities. Poczta Polska's goal is to improve the efficiency of its current logistics network, which will translate into increased operational efficiency, ensure the timeliness of courier shipments at the level expected by customers, and ultimately ensure the company's long-term development, " says Tomasz Zdzikot, CEO of Poczta Polska.

Poczta Polska has a total area of 4,300 m², which will consist of over 3,700 m² of warehouse space with 8 unloading docks, a drive-in gate and 4 courier gates, over 650 m² of office and staff space, 23 parking spaces and a loading yard.

" Transforming our logistics infrastructure is one of Poczta Polska's key investment initiatives. We are consistently modernizing our sorting facilities to provide the best possible solutions and conditions for handling increasing parcel volumes. Our goal is to become a leader in the courier market, and the development of our logistics infrastructure will be accompanied by a shift in our service offerings to best suit the needs of our customers, " says Andrzej Bodziony, Vice President of Poczta Polska.

Until now, logistics processes were carried out at the distribution center in Ostrów Wielkopolski at 3 Towarowa Street, where conditions significantly limited the ability to efficiently load and unload vehicles due to insufficient operational space to carry out current tasks.

" Acquiring new locations necessary for the development of logistics infrastructure is a key element of Poczta Polska's property management policy. New sorting facilities will provide improved transshipment infrastructure and improved technical condition, which translates into improved parcel handling and working conditions, " emphasizes Krzysztof Falkowski, Vice President of Poczta Polska.

In the Wielkopolska region, Poczta Polska provides logistics services to nearly 13,300 contractual customers. These include entities from the e-commerce sector, the Public Finance Sector, and brick-and-mortar retail chains. Additionally, the company offers pallet shipping services, used by over 2,100 customers. The average daily volume of pallets shipped is approximately 5,300.

Parcel deliveries in this area are handled by a total of over 2,000 couriers and postmen, and each month, over 88 million letters and advertising items, as well as approximately 7 million parcels and courier items, pass through the Poznań and Kalisz sorting centers in Greater Poland.

Poczta Polska is implementing a project to transform its logistics network to handle the increasing volume of CEP (courier, express, parcel) shipments. This project will enable the smooth transition of the current logistics network, primarily designed for letter delivery, to a target network with a focus on CEP and e-commerce shipments. As previously reported, the Ministry of State Assets has decided to recapitalize Poczta Polska with PLN 190 million. These funds will be allocated exclusively to the implementation of long-planned investments in the Logistics Network Architecture (LNA). The total planned capital expenditure for this purpose is approximately PLN 760 million between 2021 and 2025.

Poczta Polska and Panattoni recently signed a lease agreement for over 50,000 square meters of operational and logistics space for a second sorting facility in Warsaw. Poczta Polska's new operational space will serve as a distribution hub for parcel and pallet shipments arriving from other sorting facilities across the country and from its own service area. Simultaneously, work is underway to install sorters for the automatic distribution of CEP shipments at existing Poczta Polska logistics facilities in Wrocław, Lublin, and Lisi Ogon near Bydgoszcz.
