More and more books are being sold at post offices

post office_Polish_Post_2_Before the start of the school year, you can purchase school supplies at Poczta Polska branches across the country. A new, attractive selection of publications will be available for purchase in mid-September. This is a response to customer demand, who are increasingly interested in the books offered at these branches each year.

In 2019, the Post Office sold approximately 3.5 million books, nearly 4% more than in 2018. This year, Heather Morris's new novel "Cilka's Journey" and another of her books, "The Tattooist of Auschwitz," are enjoying significant customer interest. The Post Office also offers books such as "The Sermon on the Areopagus" by Karol Wojtyła, "Voices from the Beyond" by Remigiusz Mróz, "The End of Loneliness" by Janusz Leon Wiśniewski, and "Cudne anaowce" by Magda Grzebyk. During the summer, bestsellers include "I Survived My Own Death" by Jan Zac, "Extraordinary Poland" (a combination of an attractive travel guide and atlas), "Pocket Phrasebook," "The Light Hidden in the Dark" by Sharon Cameron, and "Italian Summer" by Carrie Elks.

More hit releases are in the works for the fall, including "Marry Me, Darling" by Krystyna Mirek, "Hideout" by Nora Roberts, "I Know Your Secret" by Agnieszka Zakrzewska, and "Stress: 1000 Ways to Deal with Stress" by Beata Pawlikowska. One of the staple products that has been selling best for years is postcards. This year, from early May to mid-July, customers bought nearly a quarter of a million of them. The company has expanded its offerings primarily for those vacationing in resorts and tourist towns. Postcards from seaside resorts are the best sellers. Last year, the highest number of postcards was sold in Ustka. Responding to customer expectations, especially from smaller towns and villages, Poczta has prepared a special campaign called SCHOOL 2020, offering approximately 500 products that make learning easier and more enjoyable. Thanks to this, when visiting a post office, you can purchase notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons, erasers, as well as pencil cases and markers. Parents of the youngest students can choose from primers, crossword puzzles, and guides for learning to read, write, and count. Those wishing to improve their English or German will also find something for themselves.

Poczta Polska, thanks to its network of branches, is present in every municipality in the country. Last year, Poczta Polska customers spent approximately PLN 425 million on products offered there. Book and newspaper sales accounted for 25% of the company's sales revenue. The availability of publications is particularly important in small towns and villages, where bookstores are not always available.
