Important agreement announced. Poczta Polska on the path to new mobility
First, an audit of challenges and opportunities and the development of a strategy, then testing the best solutions, modernizing the vehicle fleet, and building infrastructure. Sebastian Mikosz, President of Poczta Polska, and Maciej Mazur, President of the Polish New Mobility Association, announced a cooperation agreement aimed at putting the national postal operator on the path to new mobility.
The agreement was signed during the New Mobility Congress in Katowice. It is the largest event in Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to the transformation of transport and logistics, bringing together hundreds of companies, organizations, and thousands of participants.
" Fleet transformation is necessary; it's part of Poczta Polska's broader transformation plan. We are a logistics company where mobility is everything. Traditional services, like sending letters, are moving into the digital realm, so Poczta Polska needs new mobility. Why? Because we won't digitize courier services, the cash we carry, or a whole host of other services. Today's agreement is the beginning of a year-long program. Our goal is to return here in a year and tell you what we've done, what we've tested, and what new mobility solutions we're implementing," said Sebastian Mikosz, CEO of Poczta Polska.
Transformation requires solid partnerships
President Mikosz emphasized that transforming the company's mobility requires solid technological and business partnerships:
" The biggest challenge is scale. Poczta Polska is a huge organization, and we can't afford mistakes with such a large scale of operations. We have 7,200 vehicles (5,000 of our own and approximately 2,200 subcontractors – editor's note) and spend over PLN 1 billion on transport – this is the second largest expenditure on our list. New mobility is important to us because we are a logistics company and we will remain one. We are open-minded and can test various solutions, not just electromobility. And this is where the Association's role comes in, as it will provide substantive support, " he added.
" We're looking forward to this collaboration. Poczta Polska faces many challenges, but also has the potential to become a leader in the field of new mobility. We first want to examine the actual needs and opportunities, then we'll test the agreed-upon solutions, and once we're certain they're the right ones, we'll recommend their implementation throughout the organization, " said Maciej Mazur, president of the Polish New Mobility Association.
Representative for new mobility
The main goal of this collaboration is to transform the company towards sustainable, modern, and zero-emission transport. This will be handled by Poczta Polska's Representative for New Mobility, Mariusz Gawlik.
The cooperation will cover several key areas:
– new mobility strategy – preparation and implementation of a plan tailored to real operational needs;
– industry analyses and events – joint expert activities;
– fleet modernization and innovative forms of transport – taking into account various forms of mobility, as well as automation, driverless technologies and sharing;
– charging infrastructure – development at branches and logistics points;
– brand promotion – building the image of Poczta Polska as a leader in green transport.
