Logistical support of Poczta Polska in the fight against the effects of floods
Poczta Polska, the largest logistics and infrastructure company in the country, is taking on another role in supporting those most affected by the flood. In consultation with the local governments of Krakow and Warsaw, the company is pledging logistical assistance in transporting materials and essential products to areas affected by the state of natural disaster.
" We are a natural partner for local government authorities and crisis management teams. To ensure optimal coordination, we have appointed a special representative of the company to provide direct contact regarding logistical support. We are ready to transport goods necessary to help residents and institutions most in need, " emphasizes Sławomir Żurawski, Vice President of Operations and Logistics at Poczta Polska.
As with previous natural disasters, pandemics, and other emergencies that have hit Poland, the company has launched a range of initiatives to support affected residents. To ensure citizens have access to basic government services, the company has launched emergency and mobile postal points for residents of areas affected by or at risk of flooding since September 17th. It delivers pensions and disability benefits to residents of flood-affected areas and also participates in central and local aid initiatives, among other initiatives.
The company is also actively contributing to flood relief efforts. Polish Post employees affected by the flood can report their needs and requests for financial, material, and logistical assistance. A fundraising campaign has also been launched – postal workers can donate money to flood victims through the "Pocztowy Dar" Foundation.
