We support the Ministry of National Defense's disinformation campaign

Ministry of National DefensePoczta Polska has joined the information campaign led by the Ministry of National Defense. As part of the "Combating Disinformation" campaign, posters and leaflets will be placed in approximately 4,700 post offices warning against the dissemination of information that may threaten the security of Poland and Poles.

Disinformation is a dangerous tool widely used during the war in Ukraine. It involves not only creating false information but also engaging social media users in its dissemination. Often, due to a lack of knowledge about the mechanisms of disinformation, they engage in this practice completely unconsciously.

Materials prepared by the Ministry of National Defense provide information on what information should not be shared or made public (including information regarding the military and military vehicles), what we should do to protect ourselves against false information, and how to protect ourselves against it. In an era when information also has significant military significance, following the Ministry of National Defense's advice, presented in simple messages, can significantly increase the security of the country and each of its citizens.

Information about the "Fight Against Disinformation" campaign will be promoted at post offices (both local and branch) in the form of posters and leaflets. The materials will be available in approximately 4,700 locations by the end of April.

" Poczta Polska, as an entity of particular importance in the national defense system (among other things, it is the only postal operator with the status of an entrepreneur of particular economic and defense significance), has a special role in building national security, which is so crucial in the context of the war in Ukraine. Disinformation is a powerful tool used to mislead and incite unrest and animosity. Sharing materials across our network of branches, visited daily by tens of thousands of people, can significantly increase public awareness of the devastating power of false information, " says Tomasz Zdzikot, President of the Management Board of Poczta Polska.

As part of its solidarity with Ukraine, Poczta Polska – even before the start of the Ministry of National Defense campaign – publicized among its employees government announcements on disinformation published by the Government Security Center and the Government Information Center.

Poczta Polska systematically supports information campaigns organized by the state and its agencies. The company has been involved in, among other things, publicizing announcements prepared by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) ("Count and don't miscalculate!" – a call for prudent investment and financial decision-making), the Polish Safer Internet Center (online safety), the Police (fraud related to money extortion), and PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe SA ("Safe Crossing"). It has also actively participated in the #WallBehindPolishMundurem campaign and the promotion of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Program.
