The use of non-denomination stamps to pay for letter postage in new formats

On April 1, 2019, Poczta Polska is introducing formats for common domestic letter shipments. Poczta Polska customers will be able to send letters in three new formats: S, M, and L, which will depend on the shipment's size and weight.

Customers who purchased categorized stamps before the change in the Price List for Universal Services in Domestic and Foreign Trade, i.e. until March 31, 2019, will be able to use them to pay for letter postage in the new format, without paying an additional fee.

The current stamp categorized up to 350 g, size A, will be used to pay for the S format M format shipments can be paid for using the size A stamp up to 1,000 g, while L format can be paid for using the following stamps: size B up to 350 g, size B up to 1,000 g, and size A and size B stamps up to 2,000 g.

This model applies to payment for domestic unregistered and registered letter mail, both for economy and priority classes.

In the case of postage stamps with the letter designation A and B, from April 1, 2019, customers will be able to use them to pay for letter postage in the new formats as follows:

  • Postage stamps with the letter A marking can be used to pay for economic unregistered letter post in domestic circulation, format S,
  • Postage stamps with the letter B marking can be used to pay for priority unregistered letter mail in domestic circulation, format S.
