Order online at Empik with delivery to Żabka and receive a parcel and a sweet gift

zabka_milka_1080x1080"Courier deliveries" are the most recognizable service in Żabka's "Convenient Services" package. As many as 77% of customers associate Żabka with this service. Its popularity increases significantly in the pre-holiday period – in December of last year, the number of parcels collected at Żabka increased by 60% compared to November 2019. Therefore, during this special period, the brand has begun a partnership with Empik, expanding its network of Empik.com order collection points to include its stores across Poland. As part of a special offer, anyone who collects Empik.com purchases at Żabka by December 22nd will receive a sweet surprise – Milka chocolate. At the same time, Żabka is streamlining its parcel collection service – a new functionality in Żappka Post enables safe, contactless collection using a barcode.

According to the Gemius Polska Report "E-commerce in Poland 2020," there are over 28 million internet users in the country, and 73% of them have shopped online. We're increasingly choosing online shopping because it's convenient and offers greater options: selection, price comparison, and product availability. However, our preferences for receiving parcels are changing: instead of having a courier delivered to our home or work, we prefer parcel machines. We're equally happy to conveniently collect parcels from the store closest to our home.

" In 2019, Żabka handled over 12 million parcels. This interest is growing month by month – in the first quarter of this year alone, we saw a year-on-year increase of over 130% in the number of parcels handled. This is undoubtedly related to the scale of our network – over 6,600 stores across Poland – and our active collaboration with online stores. Our analyses show that over 5 million Poles are interested in picking up or sending a parcel at Żabka. Customers, who value their time, appreciate the convenience and speed of picking up or dropping off a parcel during their everyday shopping. Furthermore, the pandemic has forced us all to change our shopping habits – we are currently shopping online more often, even in categories that until recently we purchased in brick-and-mortar stores. At Żabka, we are responding to these trends, which is why we are seeking and implementing further projects that will further increase interest in the convenient parcel pickup service at our chain's stores, " says Przemysław Tomaszewski, Director of Marketing and Marketing. Sales and Service Development at Żabka Polska.

An example is the recently launched partnership with Empik, which allows customers to choose any Żabka store as a pickup point for their Empik.com purchases. For orders over 40 PLN, this delivery option is available free of charge for members of the Empik Premium Free program. Anyone who decides to use the new service between November 25th and December 22nd of this year can expect an additional gift – a voucher entitling them to free pickup of a Milka chocolate of their choice.

" We are extremely pleased to be partnering with the Żabka chain of stores, which means we've expanded our list of parcel collection points for Empik.com by over 6,600 locations across Poland. This is especially important during the busy pre-holiday shopping season. From now on, customers will be able to order Christmas gifts, books, toys, cosmetics, small appliances, home decorations, and thousands of other products from their nearest Żabka store, which is often just steps away. Importantly, for purchases over PLN 40, this delivery option is free for members of the Empik Premium Free program, " says Szymon Bujalski, Empik's e-commerce director.

Poczta Polska SA is responsible for delivering orders placed on Empik.com to Żabka stores.

" Customers have embraced Pick-Up at a POINT, and the share of this delivery method is growing year over year. Now, 25% of our customers' parcels are picked up at one of our locations, and we anticipate that this figure could reach as high as 30% in the pre-holiday period. Our partnership with Empik.com and Żabka will allow our customers to benefit from a convenient online pickup service ," says Artur Więckowski, Managing Director of Poczta Polska's Sales Division.

At the same time, Żabka is introducing another convenience in the Żappka mobile app – the ability to collect a parcel using a barcode. This is the same code shown to the seller by customers collecting Żapps for purchases or using Żappka Pay. After scanning it, the seller will hand over the parcel. This means you will no longer need to provide the seller with a tracking number or PIN to collect it, significantly speeding up the entire process.

To use the new Żappka Post functionality, download the latest version of Żappka and enter your current phone number. From then on, Żappka users will receive notifications about all shipments sent to Żabka stores via the provided phone number.

Żappka is one of the most popular free mobile apps on the Polish market, with over 3.5 million users. Since the end of May 2019, the app has been available to customers and is constantly gaining new features. It offers users special promotions on selected products and dedicated offers created using artificial intelligence algorithms. The app also allows users to collect Żapps, points redeemable for rewards, through a loyalty program. It also allows you to easily locate the nearest Żabka store.
