Changes in the handling of registered letters in foreign trade as a result of amendments to the Acts of the Universal Postal Union
Poczta Polska informs that as of January 1, 2026, foreign postal operators will no longer accept registered mail or insured letter items containing goods . Such items will be returned to senders in Poland at their expense.
The permissible content of registered mail and letter mail with declared value in foreign trade may be correspondence, documents, photos, invitations, other content used to transmit information, recorded on any medium, in particular on paper (including embossed type) or on a digital medium, if the indicated medium has no commercial value.
Goods can still be shipped to:
– postal parcels,
– postal parcels with declared value,
– EMS shipments,
– GLOBAL Expres shipments, which will be gradually expanded to cover the entire world,
– unregistered lists.
