Changes to the Regulations on the provision of universal services

Logo_level_302x159As of May 27, 2020, the "Regulations for the Provision of Universal Postal Services" are being amended. The changes introduced in the document are intended to align it with applicable law. Ultimately, customers will be able to handle matters at the post office even faster.

The changes to the "Regulations on the Provision of Universal Postal Services," effective May 27, 2020, align the regulations with applicable law, including in particular the regulation on the provision of universal postal services by designated operators. If the recipient is unable to acknowledge receipt of a registered parcel, the deliverer will be able to determine the date of delivery, indicate the person who received the parcel, and indicate the reason for the lack of a recipient's signature.

Poczta Polska is also modifying the method of confirming payment for registered mail in domestic and international services. Starting February 1, 2021, instead of a postage stamp, a new postage mark will be affixed in the form of a sticker with the letter R.

Simplification of the process of sending registered mail will contribute to shortening customer service times at post offices.

From February 1, 2021, postage stamps can only be used to confirm payment for unregistered letter items in domestic and foreign circulation.
