badge (2)_wwwOn the 100th anniversary of the Jagiellonia Białystok football team's first match, on May 30, 2020, Poczta Polska will introduce a commemorative stamp, "100th Anniversary of the Founding of Jagiellonia Białystok," into circulation. This special collector's stamp will be available in a limited edition of 90,000 pieces in a five-stamp sheet with a tag.

Jarosław Ochendzan, the author of the anniversary stamp design, presented the historical coat of arms of Jagiellonia Białystok (in use from 1987 to 1999 and from 2003 to 2006), which will be used from July 2020, and the badge of the 42nd Infantry Regiment named after General Jan Henryk Dąbrowski from 1935. In the background is a photo of the Jagiellonia Białystok football team from 1951.

The tag also features an enlarged badge of the 42nd Infantry Regiment, highlighting the role of its patron and Jagiellonia Białystok's forefather, General Jan Henryk Dąbrowski. The issue is accompanied by a First Day of Circulation (FDC) envelope featuring a photo of the Pride of Podlasie team from 1932. The colors of the entire design reflect the club's colors.

Jagiellonia Białystok is a football club competing at the highest level in Poland. Its greatest successes include two-time national runner-up finishes, the Polish Cup, and the Polish Super Cup. The popular Jagiellonia Białystok team played its first match on May 30, 1920, which is why this Poczta Polska publication comes into circulation exactly 100 years after that event.
