A postage stamp celebrating the European Amputee Football Championships
From September 12th to 19th of this year, Krakow will host a competition between the best amp football teams on the Old Continent. To mark the occasion, Poczta Polska will introduce a postage stamp from the "AMP FUTBOL Krakow 2021 European Championship" issue. Andrzej Bodziony, Vice President of the Management Board, participated in the presentation, which took place in Krakow during the Polish national AMP Futbol team's final press conference before the tournament.
Designer Jan Konarzewski depicted the dynamic figure of Krystian Kapłon, a player from the Polish Amp Futbol national team, on the stamp. In addition to the stamp, Poczta Polska issued an FDC (first day of circulation) envelope featuring the trophy and logo of the AMP FUTBOL Kraków 2021 European Championship.
" Poczta Polska has been supporting the Polish Amputee Football National Team for over two years. As a socially responsible company, Poczta Polska wants to support players in their professional careers and raise awareness among employees that the barriers are primarily in our own heads. Today's philatelic publication is another contribution Poczta Polska is making to promoting the national Amputee Football team. I hope that on September 19th, we will witness the captain of the Polish national team raising the trophy for winning the tournament, " emphasizes Andrzej Bodziony, Vice President of Poczta Polska.
Poczta Polska currently employs 1,736 individuals with disabilities. They constitute 2.42% of the company's total workforce. Depending on the region, the employment of people with disabilities ranges from 1.75% to 6.13% (Gorzów Wielkopolski) of the total workforce. Poczta Polska is one of the largest payers of contributions to the State Fund for Disabled Persons (PFRON), which are allocated for the vocational and social rehabilitation of people with disabilities and their employment. The company has been a partner of the Polish Amp Futbol national team since 2019.
" Collaborating with such a large, long-established company as Poczta Polska has been a huge success for us from the very beginning. Poczta Polska has not only supported us, but also our athletes by employing them at its facilities. Today, on the eve of a major event – the European Amputee Football Championships in Poland – we are honored to have our sport featured on stamps, something we couldn't have dreamed of just a few years ago. This is a very important recognition of our sport and our work. Together with Poczta Polska, we invite you to the EURO in Krakow, " says Mateusz Widłak, President of Amp Futbol Polska.
