Dad Reads Too campaign poster

Poczta Polska is a partner of the #DadToReads2026 campaign

Poczta Polska (Polish Post) has joined the nationwide "Dad Also Reads", which promotes reading together between children and adults and fosters reading habits in families. This is part of an effort to promote reading and demonstrate that reading can be a natural and enjoyable part of everyday family life.

Research from the National Library shows that 47% of women read books, compared to only 34% of men. The campaign highlights the importance of male reading role models and the role of both parents in building a reading culture.

The Polish Post Office is involved in the project nationwide – special book displays (list of titles at the bottom of the page) and promotional materials have been installed at branches. The activities also include initiatives in local communities, including reading to children in preschools and activities encouraging employees to read together.

Dads, uncles, grandparents, caregivers, older brothers – read.
Books are one of the simplest and most valuable ways to connect.

Why is reading important?

brochure cover

Boys often give up reading as early as age 9 or 10 – one reason is the lack of a male role model who reads. As a result, reading is often associated with schoolwork rather than pleasure, and it loses out to other leisure activities, such as sports. However, one doesn't exclude the other – you can be active and enjoy books at the same time, and reading can be a valuable and enjoyable way to spend time together.

It is worth reaching for them every day, because reading together:

  • develops vocabulary and supports the child's linguistic development
  • stimulates imagination and curiosity about the world
  • helps build relationships and closeness
  • teaches you to understand emotions and deal with them
  • strengthens self-confidence and provides a solid foundation for the future

As part of the campaign, a free booklet was created, "The Superpower of Books. #DadReadsToo"—a practical guide for parents and caregivers, full of specific tips, inspiration, and ready-made ideas for reading with your child. It is available at selected post offices and online.

#ReadSeriously2025

Throughout the European Authors' Day #ReadForReal celebrations (November 11 to December 12), Poczta Polska promoted reading by reaching out to local communities in their everyday environments through post offices. One of the offices also hosted the official launch of the initiative, bringing together authors, illustrators, and readers for a joint event.
