Lots of emotion and joy... The first of the summer meetings at "Placówka Kultura" is behind us. Check the schedule!

There were stories about the power and value of friendship, and anecdotal travel memories – on Tuesday afternoon, the Bielsko-Biała post office was filled with fans of Agnieszka Olejnik's books. This is how Poczta Polska inaugurated its summer author reading series. Below is a calendar of upcoming events as part of the "Placówka Kultura" project.

Agnieszka Olejnik is a renowned author of warm, emotional stories about people, relationships, and life choices. She has written over 40 books. Her latest novel, "Cudne manowce," tells the story of a group of friends who, after the death of one of their number, set off for Portugal to fulfill her dream. It's a hopeful story about the search for meaning and joy in life.

Inauguration at the foot of the Beskid Mountains

The meeting with the writer took place on July 14th at the post office in Bielsko-Biała, surrounded by the Beskid Mountains. The conversation with Agnieszka Olejnik was moderated by her colleague Magdalena Stępień, a traveler and author of novels inspired by expeditions to places such as India and Egypt.

Attendees listened to a conversation with the author, participated in a prize draw, and had the opportunity to purchase her latest book and get her autograph. Attendees also received specially prepared gifts – commemorative postcards, the design of which reflects the theme of Agnieszka Olejnik's book. Organizers encouraged participants to send cards to friends and loved ones to inspire their own journeys.

A series of meetings in summer and autumn

The coming months will be filled with literary conversations, inspiring meetings, and opportunities to meet authors. As part of the "Placówka Kultura" project, Poczta Polska invites you to a series of events. First, we'll meet Agnieszka Lis in Mława, Roma J. Fiszer (led by another writer, Daria Kaszubowska) in Kościerzyna, and Adam Mirek, who will visit several seaside towns.

We're not slowing down after the summer break. In September, another meeting with Agnieszka Olejnik will take place in Gdynia, and Poczta Polska will also invite you to a special event at Warsaw's Tekla Cafe, dedicated to the 19th-century composer Tekla Bądarzewska-Baranowska. In the fall, meetings with Przemysław Kowalewski in Szczecin and Barbara Wysoczańska in Lower Silesia will be held.

Postal "Culture Facility"

Author meetings organized by Poczta Polska are held across the country. The "Placówka Kultura" project aims to promote reading, support Polish authors, and create spaces for direct conversations with creators. Dozens of meetings have already taken place, including with Katarzyna Grochola, Justyna Jelińska, Monika Wawrzyńska, Agnieszka Lis, Katarzyna Majgier, Teresa Godlewska, Sławomir Koper, Gabriela Gargaś, Urszula Gajdowska, Wioletta Piasecka, Anna H. Niemczynow, Kasia Bulicz-Kasprzak, Agnieszka Jeż, and Ryszard Ćwirlej.

The national postal operator is systematically expanding the range of books available at post offices. To date, approximately 2,500 titles have been available at these branches. Importantly, customers are eager to purchase them. In 2025, a total of 2 million copies were sold at these branches. Customers sought out both new releases and literary classics, as well as guides, children's publications, and activity books.
