A surprise at the post office: notes from Judyta in Katarzyna Grochola's books

The bookshelves at post offices are currently filled with thousands of titles – from new releases to literary classics. Recently, the offerings have been expanded with books by Katarzyna Grochola. For fans of one of the most renowned authors of contemporary literature, Poczta Polska has two wonderful surprises! Copies of her latest book available at the post office include notes personally written by the author. And soon after the May Day weekend, you can meet her at an author event.

Poczta Polska (Polish Post) prioritizes unconventional approaches and close contact with its readers. This time, in collaboration with Katarzyna Grochola, it has prepared a unique literary surprise for them. Copies of the book "Exactly, That's Right. Never in Life 20 Years Later," sold at post offices, feature notes written by the author on behalf of the novel's protagonist, Judyta. This is a real treat for fans.

Author's Postal Greeting

Katarzyna Grochola was the first to receive a "Postal Author's Welcome" from Poczta Polska – a symbolic letter thanking her for joining the ranks of writers whose books are sold at post offices, along with a personalized "My Stamp." The welcome was captured on film by a Poczta TV crew .

– It's a very nice welcome, I never in my life expected such an extraordinary parcel from Poczta Polska – said an emotional Katarzyna Grochola when she was visited by postman Krzysztof Wiącek.

Meeting with the writer coming soon

Shortly after the May Day weekend, Katarzyna Grochola will meet with readers in person. The Polish Post invites you to a meeting with the writer on May 12th at 5:00 PM at the post office at Świętokrzyska 31/33 in Warsaw . Fortune Cookies, the producer of fortune cookies, will be a partner of the event.

Poles most often read for entertainment

Research from the National Library and the Public Opinion Research Center (CBOS) shows that Poles read primarily for pleasure and entertainment. This is also confirmed by sales figures at Poczta Polska branches, where novels of manners are among the most popular genres. Katarzyna Grochola's books, which depict everyday life, relationships, and emotions, perfectly align with these reading preferences.

Polish Post sells millions of books

The books are available at all Poczta Polska branches, and our customers eagerly reach for them. In 2025, a total of 2 million copies were sold at post offices – across all categories, from new releases to classic literature, guides, and children's publications, including activity books.

Recently, books and games from Nasza Księgarnia have also appeared in selected stores. Since April, seasonally, books related to First Holy Communion have also been available, including various editions of the Bible, including comics, and books about biblical characters. A wide range of First Holy Communion items is available in all stores operating under the new standard – in over 2,000 locations across Poland.
