The Polish Post Office has announced a tender for cars for postmen

Poczta Polska (Polish Post) has launched a procurement process that will ultimately lead to the acquisition of 2,600 vehicles for postmen, who fulfill an important social mission by delivering correspondence to residents across Poland. This tender is a significant step in building a new mobility model within the company. It aims to provide employees with a reliable tool for field work and standardize the rules and costs of business travel.

Postcarriers are the heart of our business. Every day, they ensure continuous deliveries, reaching customers in cities and rural areas. The nature of their work requires daily mobility, which can only be provided by a reliable, efficient, safe transport vehicle capable of accessing difficult terrain. That's why we're beginning a thorough overhaul of our fleet with this tender," said Acting President of Poczta Polska, Sławomir Żurawski.

Postman is not just a job, it's a mission

Postmen deliver over 3 million packages daily, serving over 15 million addresses across Poland. 92% of Poles use Poczta Polska's services. Postmen cover 156 million kilometers annually. As they emphasize, their profession is not just a job, but a mission. Postmen enjoy a special level of public trust. They not only deliver packages but also assist customers with various matters, especially the elderly – for example, delivering medicines, shopping, or helping with bills. Postmen are sometimes the only people with whom elderly people living alone have regular contact.

Postmen perform their duties under intense vehicle use – daily, high mileage in all weather and terrain conditions, transporting millions of parcels, and frequent reloading. The new fleet model responds to these needs by utilizing passenger and delivery vehicles adapted for parcel delivery work.

A three-year project worth PLN 323 million

The aim of the project, implemented in stages, is to create a system that will provide postmen with a uniform and reliable work tool, increase the efficiency of deliveries and the comfort of daily work in the field, reduce the need to use private cars, and unify the standards, rules, and costs of business trips.

In the next stage of the project, several hundred company vehicles will be acquired for other groups working in the field and having contact with customers, including salespeople.

The total cost of the planned contract over the 3-year period was estimated at approximately PLN 323 million gross.

Fleet modernization – an important pillar of transformation

Modernizing logistics and transport is one of the fundamental pillars of Poczta Polska's Transformation Plan. Investments in fleet development and changing its structure to build a new mobility model are a step toward a modern, stable system supporting the company's transformation into a modern enterprise.
